Here we are at the Vue Cafe/Virginia Christopher Fine Art gallery havin' a cuppa after a visit to the Paul Kuhn Gallery down the street. Hip-deep, wet, slushy snow kept all but the hardiest away this time. Too bad, too, cuz the Edward Burtynsky show at the Paul Khun Gallery was really good.

Here's Lawrence havin' a butchers at one of Burtynsky's photographs. As you can see, they're huge and contain an amazing amount of detail.

In another gallery downstairs, Paul Khun is featuring PhotoSwap, an event conceived by Timothy Prus of London, England. The PhotoSwap gallery is literally covered with (at least) 1000 photos taken by Timothy Prus. The idea is that anyone can bring in a photo and swap it for one of Timothy's Prus's pics. PhotSwap runs until March 18th, 2006 and then moves on to another gallery in another city. So far galleries in Prague, China, London, Paris, Ulan Bator, Toronto and Mexico City have signed up to host a PhotoSwap.

Your mother may have thought your face was a work of art. If she did -- and if you attended the Klatsch at Anna's Cafe Europa in Airdrie three weeks ago -- she is now vindicated; your mug is now hanging on the wall of one of Calgary's premier art galleries. Hizzoner swapped the pic we took at the Airdrie Klatsch for one of Timothy Prus's photos and, like it or not, you've been PhotoSwapped!
