Whilst enjoying a lovely autumn afternoon Klatsch in Edworthy park we ran into this fellow with a very interesting recumbent bicycle. We encircled the poor guy and began peppering him with questions about the bike and he was very gracious and patient and stuck around until our collective thirst for new knowledge had been slaked. The old memory banks aren't what they used to be but here are a few fun facts about the bike: it has disk brakes, self-sealing tires and a little cartridge of compressed air about 2 1/2 inches long which will re-fill two flats, tilt handlebars for easy mounting and dismounting, an electronic speedometer, GPS and cell phone, a nice soft seat with an inflatable back rest and a great many gears which are all useful -- i.e. shifting up or down one gear makes a meaningful difference to how hard (or easy) it is to peddle. Thanks for all the interesting info, bike man, and for letting me take your picture!
