The Mellotone Family Barbershop Quartet. The Mellotones
are currently on a round-the-world tour raising funds so that
they can become the first barbershop quartet to sing in space.
The cash-strapped Russian government has offered to shoot
them up to the Mir Space Station and broadcast their
performance to barbershops world-wide, via the Internet.
The 1.5 million dollar price tag has not discouraged the
plucky songsters; Nicky Baby and Hammer Mellotone
point enthusiastically skyward to underline their optimism
and determination. The Mellotones plan to sell any prizes
they win and add the cash to their Space Fund.
