The period of a pendulum is constant for a given length. It thereby provides, when working in concert with an escapement, a mechanism which can regulate the speed of a clock . It follows logically therefore, that if a clock can, in and of itself, be made to be the pendulum then one would have, in effect, a self-regulating clock -- one which will forever tell the correct time. A gentleman named Clayton Boyer, a wooden movement clock designer of significant repute from Hawaii determined on behalf of all humanity to design and build such a clock. He graciously provided me with plans to do likewise. I call mine Upsy.
